Yes, but sometimes just hearing the various viewpoints as opposed to
going through a long process of coming to wording satisfactory to all
can speed things up.  

And since he is assigned a role of being a liaison to this process,
actually having him see the dirty laundry and see that the pile is
rather small, may be useful.

I have sent the invitation, but have told him that if he cannot make it,
given the extremely short notice, that we will produce a set of
questions out of the meeting.  And of course, I will also point him at
the recording of the meeting for a full nuanced view.

I am not available to do it as I am taking the rest of the weekend off
until sometime midday Monday and may not even get back on the net until
then (though I find it hard to believe I could stay away that long), but
if anyone wants to take a crack at a first set of questions and float it
on this list, that would be useful.  I think the trick will be in
phrasing the questions as neutrally as possible.
