Thanks. I will try to fill in the chart with some views from a registry
perspective with the caveat that they are not RySG positions and that
some of the members may very well disagree with my views. That said, I
will also send them the positions and solicit their feedback in parallel
to get towards consensus.

Dear Jeff et all,

Just to clarify in regards the Common Grounds Paper:

I anticipate that every constituency/SG will be coming up with their
individual positions and comments which will be sent to the GNSO. The
CG Paper does not represent constituencies/groups formal/approved
positions. However, the CG Paper is an effort of reps on the STI and
many in their constituency/group to see where depending on quid pro quo
there may be possibilities to achieve common ground. This does not
prejudice or impact constituency/group positions. As mentioned earlier
the document does not represent crystallized views and ideas and
positions of constituencies/groups may be subject to change depending on
how the process moves forward and possible compromises may have to be
made by any in attempting to reach consensus. However, if the STI
process fails in whole or in part to achieve consensus the document will
not prejudice any positions of each constituency/group nor those
positions that may be sent by each constituency/group to the GNSO. So
it's just something for us to help in our discussions.

Sincerely,

Zahid Jamil

Thanks Zahid for this effort. Just to clarify, are these statements of
common ground with the actual stakeholder groups/constituencies or just
common ground with the reps on the STI group from the stakeholder
groups/constituencies? At least with respect to the RySG, although I
can certainly express my own opinion, at this point in time, I cannot
state whether those opinions constitute the opinions of the RySG. I am
hopeful I can adequately represent them, but I just wanted to note that
for the record.

Thanks.

Subject: [gnso-sti] Common Grounds Paper

Dear All,

With great appreciation for many of those who took part in many hours of
off-line discussions and work to try and reach some common ground in
anticipation of the calls this week, this Table has been prepared which
outlines the areas where various parties 'seem' to agree.

I have not had a chance to discuss these with Ry, Rar or IPC. This
document only represents much common ground being attempted to be
reached between NCSG, ALAC and BC positions based on initial
discussions. The document only represents initial thinking as to ideas
for reaching common ground and does not attempt to crystallize positions
and has been prepared just to start discussions.

Since some of us who have been working on the document in various time
zones over long hours, please allow room for a few errors and feel free
to point out corrections - apologies in advance.

Hope this helps to drive discussion over the coming weeks.

Sincerely,
