Zahid,
It is a number.
We've not asked for, or accumulated, vendor representations of terms and
conditions.
A related question we have made some progress on is what are the cost
components of registry continuity, in particular the volume independent
cost of monthly reports to icann for a registry in continuity. If the
report is mostly unchanging, what does it cost to generate automatically,
to review and if necessary, finalize, before sending it to ICANN?
As the annual cost ICANN expects incure processing monthly reports, and
other functions, is $25k, and if a registry "in continuity" has little
"other functions" other than monthly reporting and minor incidentals, is
the cost-to-read-and-record each in a series of similar report $2,000 or
is this number excessive?
This is useful for estimating the per-registry reporting requirement cost
to the platform operator, distinct from all other costs, some of which
have other amortization-across-several-client cost savings to the platform
operator. Of course, no one is looking for the reporting to disclose that
the registry is unchanging, but the actual cost to accurately report the
monthly dynamic characteristics of the registry may be similar to those
for the monthly static characteristics of the registry, in continuity or
not.
Please see also Avri's comments.
