Shockwave Wireless Support for Group One's Registry Proposal |
Message: |
|
We are excited by the possibilities that Group One Registry's proposal represents
for us. ShockWave Wireless is a leader in the Wireless In-Building "Last Meter" market.
We are helping to connect every device to the Internet [Especially those that are
just now getting Internet aware silicon embedded in them (From PBX systems to watches,
from cars to faxes)]. We are pleased with Group One Registry’s approach to TLD's
because it opens up the necessary amount of domain names needed to connect all these
new devices to the Internet. Enabling devices to communicate instantly through the
real-time mapping of a device’s dedicated domain name with a dynamically allocated
IP address creates a new paradigm for mobile device to mobile device communications.
This approach would empower more companies to deploy mobile commerce solutions. Their
approach would also empower vendors of Internet appliances to provide remote support
for their products via the Internet. For those who know that most of the world (outside
the United States) accesses the Internet with devices other than computers, the power
of being able to navigate to DNS addresses using a numeric keypad becomes obvious.
We hope this is approved. Timothy L. Hirou CEO ShockWave Wireless Los
