When they introduced 1-888, 1-887, and other toll free numbers the public caught
on pretty quick. There were fears of "mass confusion" by the businesses that used
these toll-free numbers. But, the public is not quite as dense as you would think.
They adapted quick quickly to the change and now it's not even an issue anymore.
Same
with area-code changes. Having lived in Chicago and Boston I have lived through a
couple of area-code changes. So, all your numbers change. It's kind of frustrating
at first - but everyone adapts pretty quickly and life goes on. I think your "fiasco"
argument is weak.
It might
be an inconvenience for you - because now your "exclusive dot com" name may actually
encounter competition. (God forbid!) But, that is life Joe -- and it will go on anyway.
