Out of all the names you listed only TWO are tradmarked terms: "Yahoo" and "AOL" The others are common words that exist in the dictionary, or are geographical landmarks. It doesn't matter that someone owns "pets.com"... this in and of itself does not give them the exclusive right to the word "pets". This is the problem with the trademark interest -- everyone want to claim everyday, ordinary words for themselves and sue anyone who tries to use these words. I've got a word for that: "bullshit"
