I think this could be a reasonable compromise, and it would not impact on the existing infrastructure and procedures (in fact, you could already do it on the present preregistration form, which has a space for "name to appear on badge"). I am not happy with forcing people to declare their true name at registration, but I am also not sure that letting totally unidentified people wander through the meeting is a good idea. Perhaps this could be allowed for public events such as the public forum, but still I do see security (and appearance-of-security :( ) concerns, especially in the meeting of an American organization in an Arab country. -- vb.
