        The proposal for creating a dedicated museum TLD is currently being discussed on several e-mail distribution lists within the museum community. It is my intention to forward a digest of that material to the present forum near the end of the public review phase. Although I will make every attempt at reflecting the full scope of the arguments presented elsewhere, the process of creating a digest, by definition, requires the selective processing of information.

The scope of the latter is limited enough to make it easy to locate the relevant material by direct browsing. MUSEUM-L is a high traffic list and using the search engine at the gateway may be advisable.

Discussion may be in progress on other lists as well and I note that at least one of them has already been reported on the ICANN site.
