Mr. Auerbach:Suggest you
bone up on your LDAP (or generalized Directory principles) before questioning the
privacy implications of this proposal - nothing in the proposal compromises privacy
in any way. Data that can be read is data that is being explicitly exported for reading. As
to security, the folks at DIF and the Open Group are familiar enough with the arcane
workings of PKI that I'm confident they will insure the security of transactions
(although there should be no secure data being exchanged, at least initially). -dave
