I should point out that .web names will not cost $35 regardless of the registrar.
Please check our application again. Our financial projections are based on the registry
cost of $15. What the registrar charges is up to the registrar. The IOD registrar
adds $20 and charges $35. Another registrar may add $15 and charge $30. Or add nothing
and charge $15. As with any free market, if the $15 registry cost is competitively
too high, I suspect it would go down. That, sir, is what competition is all about. If
you wish to discuss this, please do so in the area that ICANN has set aside for our
