1. Introduce .reg or/and another
solution for trademark holders.
2. Declare there is no trademark protection "in the open space".
3. Create some new gtlds and if such a rush
happens, be prepared to add up to 100 new gtlds within 10 minutes.
The rush will
end, because everybody knows that it will be impossible to sell 100 different "icecream.xyz"
for a lot of money, before new gtlds are created again.
I don't think there will
be any big rush as you describe it, unless you make international advertising in
order to get 7 billion people run crazy. In that case, those who do not even use
a telephone may want to buy a domain name - nonsense!
If you really think there
will be a rush, don't advertise and don't run people crazy, but tell them that further
gtlds will be added on a regularily bases and everybody gets "his new chance" again
and again.
