IANA, the father of ICANN, authorized Image Online Design (webtld.com) to accept real, active, live registrations for the .web Top Level Domain in anticipation of the inclusion of .web into the Internet root. IANA was concerned, properly so, that all databases controlling Internet activity should be functioning at peak performance. .web was opened to the public for registration in advance of actually being available on the Internet PRECISELY for this reason.     There are some now trying to say that IOD has no right to be accepting registrations, and that their registrants should be tossed out. Many have actually called what IOD is doing, "a scam," or "criminal." These people have not done their homework or are blowing smoke, and go around driving funny looing automobiles.     (Mine ain't no bargain either, come to think of it.)
