IOD is a registry, not a registrar |

As the subject says, IOD is not an ICANN registrar because the company has no interest
in selling .com names. IOD is a registry, not a registrar. Why isn't IOD using
nic.web? We are. But since .web isn't in the roots right now, we also have webtld.com
so those who choose not to point to our servers can get to us. Why aren't we in
the roots? Put simply, because IANA chose to have the IAHC process rather than honour
the commitment that was made to IOD in 1996. The IAHC process failed, and the IFWP
process was begun instead. The IFWP process was derailed, and ICANN was created instead.
Which leads us to where we are. 4 years later. Christopher Ambler Image Online
