.NOM sounds too much like .COM |

Could someone please explain the benefits to the internet community as a whole of
introducing a new TLD which rhymes with and sounds very similar to the most popular
TLD in the WORLD. Why when there are so many other possible 3 letter combinations
which would clearly leave no room for confusion would they even consider the possibility
of the following question "Did he say .Nom or did he say .Com". Secondly why do
people think that because it's called .NOM that people will not register the same
names that have been registered under.COM ie Bank.NOM , Cars.NOM , Business.NOM etc.
And as far as personal names go .NOM has the same limitations as .COM in that there
can only be 1 Joe.NOM, 1 Mary.Nom etc... So I cannot agree with most of the people
who believe that .NOM is a great choice as I believe out of all the proposed TLDs
this one lends itself to unneccessary confusion and possibly could lead to
thousands of cases being brought before WIPO. If that sounds farfetched consider
the typosquatter cases which recently found people guilty because they used common
misspellings to redirect traffic. Just something to think about...
