I think we need .reg restricted domains for TM holders
that also specify a class. How this is done specifically, class.reg or reg.class
or class alone like .airline but with the presumption that any such class is restricted
to .reg holders (this shouldn't be too hard for the public to grasp). In addition
to those could be restricted TLDs like .union .church .kids and .fame (for Corinthians
soccer team, Julia Roberts, Brad Pitt, Don Henley et al, names that are putatively
famous). Those domains could be seen as approximately equivalent to the yellow
pages (in function if not in structure). Why are there yellow pages at all? We have
yellow and white pages (and government and etc.) because they are different classes
of names and could be confused if they're all just on white pages. If this is done
then I think new open domains have a chance to succeed, without it I think they have
much less chance and will just increase existing problems.
