The extent to which firms like Lexis and Westlaw migrate to the .law domain will depend upon discussions that will take place between them and dotLaw, Inc. after the .law application is approved. These separate businesses will make their own business decisions about the value of moving to the .law domain on an individual basis.

Law schools and law students are constituencies that will benefit immensely from being amongst the international legal community on the .law domain. We agree their needs are indeed very different from practicing legal professionals.  This was not specifically developed in detail within the ICANN application but Law schools and students are definitely important groups that will have representation both on .law as well as the .law Domain Advisory Board. A reference to this plan can be seen on our website www.thelawdomain.net under the Domain Advisory Board tab within the .law domain page.
