This discussion is useless, since you refuse my assumption:
this forum is ALREADY
a sample of generic Internet users.
You happen to be one of that 10% that is against
IOD.I think that my assumption is correct because I am a
generic Internet user
myself ,and I know that also many
IOD supporters are generic Internet users.
Otherwise,
where are they from??!
About millions of people that don't even know about IOD
and ICANN:
I assume that what happened to me (and to 90% people in this forum)
would
"propagate" to those millions people:
after they are informed of IOD's history
and situation
they would become (at 90%) IOD supporters.
You can't believe this,
but this is what is usually made
in statistical studies.
And USUALLY they give
excellent results.
Again, the Gore/Bush situation is very unusual,
being very
close to 50%-50% level.
This is not IOD's case...

Statistics usually *can* give accurate predictions.
What
you consider impossible (read above)
is actually made in surveys and opinion polls,
and
it USUALLY works.
Unfortunately at this time we have a very important
exception
(the President of the USA) and this
may confuse...
By the way, I just saw on
cnn.com
that in the USA a survey was just made about the President election.
This
was made on 1100 persons!
However, these 1100 persons are considered a very good
sample
of 200 or 300 million people.
This is usual in statistics, and it works.
