Subject: Risk, stability, reliability

IODesign states in their application that they will need to expand their organization. A 4 employee company cannot handle the demands of running a real world registry for a popular TLD. They know that. If it only took 4 people to run a registry, do you think that Network Solutions would have 100s of employees? My point is that there is less risk when chosing a company that ALREADY has the business organization and infrastructure necessary to run such an operation (Afilias being that company). What we need is reliability and stability. By choosing a company (Afilias) that can leverage their current infrastructure, capital and experience, ICANN will be getting a solution more stable than the solution IODesign can provide.
