DotLaw,Inc. also supports free speech and a free Internet. Although the original Internet was actually a government funded and sponsored initiative, we agree that free expression in public cyber-space must remain to foster the unfiltered and unregulated international free exchange of ideas. However restricted generic top level domains have also been necessary and have fulfilled a different need since the beginning of the Internet (.mil, .gov., and .edu) and have never been challenged by the Supreme Court.

The call for a sponsored and restricted international legal space such as .law has come from the legal professionals and public who recognize the limitations and inefficiencies of current fragmented and unverified legal information on the Internet. They find this "extremely offensive" to their professional standards and want some organization and quality control. The .law domain will be governed by a Domain Advisory Board made up of legal professionals and their policies will be administered by dotLaw,Inc.

Respectfully Submitted,
DotLaw,Inc.
