dotLaw, Inc. agrees with the reviewer that the ICANN process for commenting on proposed new top level domains (TLD's) such as .law has not been widely publicized in the popular press. However many lawyers and law firms, the ABA, and all the state Bars are aware of the initiative and have the .law proposal under active consideration within their organizations and will comment when that process is complete. The public comment period was extended to a month (Oct 7th to Nov 5th) to allow more time for valuable input about the applications from groups like The United States Law Firm Groups, Inc.  There will also be another short public comment opportunity (approx. one week) after the ICANN analysis of the TLD applications is posted on November 8th. In the meantime please visit www.thelawdomain.net for an executive summary of the .law concept and planned infrastructure. Then also please contact us directly if you need further clarification on any issue.

The second public comment period should allow your organization ample time to review our entire ICANN application in detail and comment. However please note that details of the .law plan continue to develop on a weekly basis and our application was submitted way back on October 2nd. Please check with us first if there are concerns as these issues might have already been addressed. We look forward to your input this month as well as the possibility of having your input to the Domain Advisory Board on a more permanent basis as the .law domain develops.

Respectfully submitted,
DotLaw, Inc.
