I posted this question because I couldn't see a solution to this problem myself. I am not suggesting a solution, just pointing out a problem and would be very interested to hear of any proposed solutions.

Nicknames will increase the utilisation of the namespace, but many people (my parents for example) would not wish to be known under a nickname.

If there is no solution, and it is only possible to give, say, 100 people with each unique full name a meaningful domain name then does this defeat the objective of a .NOM domain space?

Neither Core nor dotNOM have really addressed this key issue, and the ideas included in GNR's application for .NAME are very weak (it suggests that if my name is Fred Joseph Bloggs then domain names of joseph.bloggs.name or bloggs.joseph.name would be attractive)
