We have a great opportunity here to develop a system that allows everyone to be addressed on an equal basis. This applications that relies on multiple obscure name formats and nicknames/fantasy names does not do this.

The .i proposal by Sarnoff Corp appears to offer a solution with a proposed personal name format of firstname-middleinitial-lastname.NNNN.i where NNNN is a number from 1 to 9999. This would only offer 10,000 John A Smith's an e-mail address, but that is several orders of magnitude more than Cores proposal can offer, and it acknowledges that there is a fundamental balance to be struck between having an attractive domain name and having universal access.

I would support the .i proposal over Cores proposal as it offers universal access.
