The difference between .shop, .com, and .net are subtle. Do you think that the current domain name owners will also not be registering .shop. This means that amazon.com will get the domain name amazon.shop, not you. Since 55% of current domain name owners will be registering alternate suffixes, this means that 55% of all current domain names holders will take all existing new domain names(see Afilas press release for statistics). In the ICANN domain resolution system, 85% of domain conflicts was awarded to trademark owners. This means that even though if you are faster in registering your new domain name, the current domain name for .com or .net will come along and have a 85% chance of winning (taking it away from you). This is the reason why they call it printing money. This is the reason why .shop in particular is a bad idea.
