                 There seems to me to be nothing more important to retaining the radical democratic virtues of the internet, than to approve a .union domain name.  As the internet becomes an increasing mode of communication, information, and unfiltered propaganda, the voices that are priveleged are increasingly large corporations who get name recognition, have special deals with search engines, etc.  I think it's absolutely necessary to counter the ways in which information is increasingly getting monopolized by a domain name that is simple to remember and offers positive counter-positions to what is said in corporate web pages. Internet is an important tool for people's access to information and it should not only be kept that way but it should be actively fostered.
