There is plenty of competition, although the point about existing registrars
is well understood. Diebold has proposed three competitive gTLDs: .cash, .global,
.secure. IOD has proposed (with a great proposal, by the way) .web and may have
a case for prior use. There are several others proposing new gTLDs worth consideering:
Look at the Pulver, Peek and Marschel proposal for .tel, or the Nokia proposal. The
focus has been so much on political issues that we are missing the opportunity to
discuss ALL of the applications. This is our one time to do this... are we
