Wha wha wha wah, all I see you do is whine.
ALLDNS, an accredited registrar, right?
Wassamatta? You wanna sell ".shop" or ".sex" domains??
Not makin enough money to cover the $50,000 fee?? Awww..
Don't worry man, I feel for you.
Seriously.
Keep on whining!
Be heard.

But you should do some homework... no FCC here, but the
Department of Commerce was in 1997 assigned the duty of
"privatiz[ing] the domain name system (DNS) in a manner that increases competition and facilitates international participation in its management."  It was a transiional relationship to last until the end of last month (unless they extended it), thus the timeliness of the opening of the doors to gTLDs (or cracking open for the few).

Stop sounding like a blunt arse and asking so many questions like
"Why? or Who? or wha wha wha wha!" and start offering some ideas
and solutions and more solid opinions.   MMMkay??
