        As chair of ICOM (the UK federation of worker co-ops and employee owned businesses)I wholeheartedly support proposals for .co-op
Worker co-operatives are Social Enterprises with community and ethical priorities, and need to be able to distinguish themselves from other enterprises at the top level. 
Many co-ops, such as my own, are becoming involved in e-commerce and e-recruiting. My co-op, Suma Foods, now does most of our public promotion work by internet. The users of these services and other members of the public have a right to be able to distinguish us from all the other .CO.UK enterprises as soon as they see the URL.
   .CO-OP will enhance competition and provide a trustworthy benchmark in e-commerce, a comparative sector where the businesses are owned by their members (customers and employees) and subscribe to globally recognised ethical principles.
Yes please, let us have .CO-OP.
