I am a lawyer, manager, and teacher who has been involved with co-ops (primarily in the food area) for about twenty years. I have formed them, served on their boards, consulted with them, and done member work for them, in addition to buying from them. I have studied them and taught about them.

The co-op option for organization and governance is a rich and innovative one. It is being explored (and adopted) by more and more organizations in more and more industries and fields of endeavor. There is a wide range of entities, interest groups, agencies, and individuals that would be well served the availability of a .CO-OP TLD. Not only in the US, but in many other countries.

The availability of such a TLD would stimulate discussion and creation of these organizations and their bold underlying principles.

I urge the establishment of a .CO-OP TLD.
