      Cooperatives are entities that do not neatly fit into the .com or .org classifications, though they have elements of each. At the same time, cooperatives are resources uniquely capable of adding value to the economic lives of their user/owner/members.

There is a great need for individuals and entities interested in doing business with and through cooperatives to be able to easily identify cooperative entities. The need is especially pressing internationally, where cooperatives have acquired great credibility as sources of economic democracy. Establising .co-op as a TLD would be of great benefit.
