Yes, In my opinion gTLD CONTROL should be distributed throughout the world. Afilias current owners: "65% having offices in North America, 53% in Europe, 26% in Asia and the Pacific Rim, 5% in Australia, and 5% in the Middle East". When new Registrars enter into ownership it will be even more global.

Let's not make the NSI mistake again.

I have read it. They're addressing this issue after 4 years of running their business and 20,000+ registrations. I wouldn't say I'm impressed.

Running out of arguments - are we? I would prefer a registry in which currently 150+ experienced Registrars can gain ownership bun never take control of. As far as I can see http://www.icann.org/tlds/info1/AFILIAS.htm maximum owner share can be 11% in Afilias.
