Dear Mr. Roberts,

On behalf of the over 800 members of the Middlebury Natural Foods Co-op in Middlebury, VT, I am writing to urge ICANN to approve the proposal for a ".co-op" top-level domain.  NCBA and Poptel are proposing .co-op with the full endorsement of the International Cooperative Alliance.

Our co-op serves a large portion of our town. Sales have averaged 15% growth for the past 6 years and membership grew 40% last year. The Co-operative movement is alive and well in Middlebury, VT. We work hard to provide our members with the best products and services as possible.

Consumer mistrust of e-businesses is growing. It's critical that co-ops have an opportunity to identify themselves to consumers who prefer to do business with us. Neither .com nor .org accurately characterizes co-ops to Internet users.

Co-ops exist in 100 countries, rural and urban. 750,000 co-ops exist worldwide with 725 million members.

I urge you to move quickly to approve .co-op.

Sincerely,

Glenn Lower
