      .web .com .kids .xxx are all bad for the system.

Get back to the basics.  When the web was part of the milatry the dots made sense because the machines where slower and their was only a few groups on the web.

Now the web is big!  .us .ca are great, the leave local authorities local control, and local branding.  So on the same branding issue,  why can there be .coke .pepsi .levis?  If a company is willing to pay for the service let them.  

Now are this trademarks have meaning. 

With the current method of adding .web or .kid or .union then we will all be forced to either by multiple domians even though we don't them - because we need to protect our image. OR more lawsuit   with ICCAN right there deluting the brand.
