        Co-operative Futures is a new policy and support organisation for co-operatives, credit unions and community enterprises, operating in Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire, Swindon and Southampton in the UK. Local forums provide the strategic direction for the work we undertake.

We have found that strong local networks of mutual enterprises are of crucial importance in strengthening the sector. Co-operative clusters, based on a shared mutual identity, facilitate the exchange of experience and best practice. Strong clusters, supported by specialist co-operative support organisations such as Co-operative Futures, can help individual organisations to thrive. They also offer the opportunity to raise the profile of the co-operative business model as one that combines social aims with social ownership, and to develop policies that address the needs of the sector as a whole.
