        Dear ICAAN:

In today's digital age it is essential for users to easily and quickly determine the direction they are heading when they log-on to the Internet.  For my cooperative clients this is currently impossible.

By forcing more than 700,000 cooperative businesses to identify themselves as .com the current registration system is making it more difficult for legitimate cooperative businesses to thrive on the Internet.

This is particularly true with all the so called "cooperative projects or business propositions" offered on the Internet.

The Internet is dependent on trust for success.  So are cooperative businesses.  I strongly urge you to approve the new TLD for .co-op to support the legitimate interests of hundreds of millions of cooperators stretched all over the globe.

It will be a wonderful direction for this increasingly globalized planet.

Sincerely,

Andrew Ferguson
