Dear Global View,

As your comment notes, travel is a large and multi-faceted industry, and the ".travel" TLD needs to be inclusive enough to reflect that diversity.  In point of fact, the IATA proposal already does so!  As stated at the end of section C.5 of the IATA application:

"The community to be served by the establishment of the “.travel” TLD will consist of all organizations involved in any aspect of travel.
Specifically this will include but not be limited to:

      Scheduled Airlines

      Charter Airlines
      Airports
      Ferries
      Train Operators
      Bus and Coach Operators
      Ground Handlers
      Catering Companies
      Car Rental Companies
      Hotels and Resorts
      Bed and Breakfast Houses
      Camp Facility Operators
      Tourist Boards/Associations

      Tourist Facility Operators

      Travel Guide Publishers
      Travel Agents
      Tour Operators
      Consolidators
      Internet Service Providers for Travel
      Computer Reservation Systems/Global Distribution Systems"

So you see, IATA will welcome registrations in the ".travel" TLD from bed & breakfast operators, car rental companies, travel guide publishers, etc., etc.  Moreover, the list quoted above is not exclusive, but just gives some of the main examples of businesses likely to want to register in this TLD.

As confirmed in the excerpt quoted above, IATA's proposal for this TLD is to be every bid as all-encompassing and diverse as the travel industry itself.  So with this clarification, we hope you'll want to support the IATA application!

Best regards,
The IATA dot-travel TLD Team
