Subject: Why IATA should not be accepted

                                        Even if other  travel consortuiums and organziations missed the filing deadline, I think that allowing IATA to own the name would be a grevious mistake.
I would be as if we allowed one auto company consortium (like Detroit) to own the "dot car" domain. The end result would be that competing suppliers would be beholden to them and small competitors would never be allowed to flourish. This is pretty much contrary to the spriti in which Icann has functioned to date. Please refuse the IATA request.
