A CLOSE REVIEW OF THIS APPLICATION INDICATES A SIGNIFICANT LACK OF CONCERN AND EMPHASIS ON THE PART OF THE APPLICANT WITH RESPECT TO THE GLOBAL NATURE OF EXPANSION IN THE NAME SPACE PROPOSED BY THE ICANN BOARD. LET US BE SPECIFIC...

1. MARKETING:

HERE IS AN EXCERPT FROM THE IOD APPLICATION  " As a part of the our marketing plan, which includes but is not limited to, advertising, publicity, strategy, the company has in a formal strategy
meeting with Mr. Scott Toland, the President of Toland Marketing, developed a national marketing program to put the .Web registry and .Web TLD in the minds of prospective customers in all the major market places in the country"

THATS IT ??? WHAT COUNTRY ?? (LET US GUESS HERE...)
THERE IS NO MENTION OF THE GLOBAL GROWTH IN INTERNET USAGE AND NUMBER OF WEB-SITES... NO MENTION OF ANY PROPOSED METHODOLOGIES TO DEAL WITH A GLOBAL ROLL OUT OR POSITIONING THE TLD GLOBALLY ...

THIS IS A CLASSIC CASE OF AN "AMERICA-CENTRIC" APPROACH TO PLANNING AND PROVIDES NO PRACTICAL CONSIDERATION OF THE ICANN BOARD CONCERNS ABOUT GLOBAL EXPANSION

2. TECHNICAL CONSIDERATIONS... HERE AGAIN ALL WE FIND IN THE APPLICATION IS THE FOLLOWING "In addition, we plan to operate a secure back-up facility in the Eastern part of the U.S. to provide redundancy and enhanced reliability for our system administration."

NO MENTION OF GLOBAL REDUNDANCY... NO CONSIDERATION HERE AT ALL

3. OWNERSHIP.... AGAIN WE SEE NO REFERENCE TO THE EXISTING OWNERSHIP STRUCTURE BASICALLY CONSISTING OF 4 PEOPLE. NO COMMITTMENT TO GLOBAL EXPANSION OF OWNERSHIP HERE

ALL  IN ALL WE SEE WHAT REPRESENTS TO US TO BE A SIGNIFICANT DISREGARD FOR THE GLOBAL NATURE IMPLIED IN THIS PROCESS
