Subject: Say no to a monopoly.

First of all, I wish to voice my support for the .web TLD.  Having said that, two choices (the third is almost a red herring) exist for who will run the .web registry.  On the one hand we have IOD, who thought of, implemented, and perfected the .web registry, with the permission of IANA.  On the other hand, we have Afilias, a consortium of huge corporations that together completely control existing TLD's, and from what I can tell is trying to make sure they corner the market on the next hot TLD.  Network Solutions, a major player in Afilias, is nothing more than a government-sanctioned monopoly, and I for one shudder to think what might happen if they get control of .web.
