Subject: IOD should run .WEB

It would be an unfair decision if ICANN were to allow NSI (Afilias) or Neustar to run the .WEB suffix.
Suggestion to ICANN: assign .web to IODesign, .info to Afilias, and .site to Neustar. This solves the problem to choose from different applications and it increases competition on these main generic TLDs it will also avoid conflicts.

IOD's .web registry is ready and can go online very soon. Internet users have shown to prefer and to support IOD (this forum speaks for itself).

NSI was allowed to take pre-registrations for .com in 1993. In 1996 IOD had permission by IANA to do the same for .web. Internet users have known in good faith for 4 years that the new .web TLD was managed by IOD.

IOD have been running .web over the last four years (with 20,000 supporters so far). NSI & Neustar came in the last minute on .web

Many thanks for reading my views on this issue,

Howard Dean
