After having read most of the applications for new TLD:s (puh!), this is my conclusion:1.
.web is the obvious first chioce for a new unrestricted gTLD. It's a TLD-string that
works well all over the world (including Sweden) and it would work very well as a
(well needed) competitor to .com.
2. IOD is the obvious choice to handle the .web
TLD. Their application is very serious and they've got the right "Internet-spirit"
to handle it and it seems they've got the right respect to their customers.
3.
If Afilias get the .web TLD it would be nothing less than a great scandal. The monolopy
of NSI would continue and there would no doubt be speculations about Ken Stubbs conflict
of interest. The selection of Afilias would once and for all prove that all bad things
said about ICANN is true. I hope they aren't.
Thanks for listening.
