His point was was simply how well 19 regitrars have avoided paying a legitimate fee for access to new tld's.  Though in reverse, I guess that means each registrar is only entitled to 1/19th of the profits, or does it?  Given that each registrar will have access to sell domains in each space, then the weight of thier existing businesses will surely generate large revenue streams for themselves based on commission of some other pricing scheme.  It may even be anti competitive to smaller registrars inside Afilias.  It certainly is a strange situation and very ugly all round.

I think ICANN should have charged 50K per domain myself ...
