What ever the result of this discussions will be: I strongly believe that limitation
of TLDs is needed. There might be good reasons to supply someting for unions and
for kids, some for continents or political units (eu or arab), but do not believe
that it will make any sense to offer TLDs to every branch in business.
Instead
of having the numbers of TLDs increased as wanted by the most, it might make sense
to offer a new system of TLDs in the near future. Putting e.g. the location in front
of the URL (e.g. www.de.communards.org) could bring us further. We than would have
the following TLDs build(location1) (location2) (Name) (Kind)
www / de / communards
/ org
Under this regards we just need to seperate the kind newly. What kind of
users do we have? I just see the following
gov - governmental
org - non gov.
organisation
net - non gov. organisation / networks
com - commercial
biz
- sales
kid - suitable for childern
sex - adult pages
edu - education
uni
- unions
rel - religious
Add some new regions
eu - Europe
as - Asia
af
- Africa
nam - North Amerika (could be Ya for Yankee)
sam - South America (could
be Ma for Macho)
With this or simmilar, I believe a target in the www can still
be traced.
