Subject: Numeric domain names

As regards the proposal that domain names should be in the form of telephone numbers, this idea has certain inherent flaws, to whit:
[1]Telephone numbers change as do area code structures

[2]Not everyone wishes to publicise their telephone number (particularly if they are ex-directory!)

[3] Telephone numbers are usually random numeric strings and therefore not naturally easy to remember or associate.  Why else would all that work have gone into the X.500 standard?

[4] Many organisations and subscribers have more than one number associated with them.

[5] It took me about two minutes to come up with these objections.  The idea would thus seem rather vulnerable.
