Subject: About any proposed gTLD with strings and acronyms that implies geographical regions and .GEO

Message:

Dear ICANN Board Members and Staff:

Several applications has been posted by applicants proposing gTLDs as .AFRICA, .DUBAI, .GEO, .NYC, for example.

I my opinion, such proposals aren't in the range of gTLDs in fact.  Such proposals might be dismissed because, in fact, such proposals comes from organizations, groups and others that are not representatives groups of such regions and/or culture and if a region, country, city, the entire world and or any portion of region, wants new TLDs that identifies geographical areas, then such proposals has to pass by a process similar to the one that was applied for the European Union TLD .EU.

The exception of the above is that the proponents of such TLDs be a representative group of the region for which such TLD is intending for, that in the proposal includes that such TLD will be operated in a non-profit basis and that such TLD will be in service of the promotion of the culture and sustainable development of the region intended.
