I think the .i proposal is an excellent idea.  Offhand I can think
of several applications that would greatly enable people's
use of IP technology.

- Users have a login accessable personal web page with:
  * email forward addresses
  * IP address for personal IP phone
  * Telephone number for home/work

There they can customize contact info.

With IP telephony growing very quickly, instead of inputing
a telephone number that is converted to a IP address, A person
could simply input the destinations dns entry (ie. phone.user.i)
which would resolve to an IP address.

Also a .i user can have one email address or several email
addresses permanently.

ex: user@user.i forward to user@icann.org

So whenever the user changes addresses she can still recieve
mail in her primary inbox.

Basically as our homes become accessable by IP devices all people
will need to have dns entries for their telephones, PC's (peer-to-peer),
gaming devices, etc, etc....  Doti is an excellent
scalable proposal to meet the comming demand for
personal dns entries worldwide.

I also think Sarnoff has a history of distributing technologies
that have significantly changed the world.

Thank You
