IOD has 20,000 registered domains.

.com is into many multiple of millions.

The registrants holding IOD generics are generally not the same registrants holding the .com, .net and .org counterparts--which is the point of opening up new gTLDs.

I am willing to bet that within the first hour or two or three, 20,000 MORE will be added to the database.

. . . That's the same number that IOD took 4-5 years to register out.

Your argument, if followed to its logical conclusion, would lead to a database reset on a very regular basis.

Furthermore, 20,000, 40,000 or 200,000 registrations do not make for a filled database.
